Services

Marion Women’s Health Center can meet the full spectrum of a woman's health needs, including: general and high risk obstetrics, general gynecology, infertility and pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

Obstetrics
Marion Women’s Health Center offers complete obstetric care encompassing prenatal, delivery and post-partum care. We encourage our patients to be involved in the labor and delivery process.

Gynecology
Marion Women’s Health Center also is devoted to the gynecological care of females including pre and post adolescent girls and extending into the post-menopausal age group.

Gynecology Surgery
Gynecological surgery refers to surgery on a female's genital parts. Some examples of these types of surgeries include: abdominal pelvic surgery, laparoscopy, laser surgery, vaginal surgery, vulvar surgery, cone biopsies and hysterectomies.

Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
This procedure examines the abdominal cavity with a laparoscope through one or more incisions in the abdominal wall, usually at the umbilicus. This is usually done to determine causes of infertility, pelvic pain, irregular vaginal bleeding or pelvic mass. Endometriosis, adhesions and tubal obstruction are the most common abnormalities found by laparoscopy.

Antepartum Testing

These tests monitor the well-being of your baby. The tests are simple, comfortable, non-invasive and safe. Some of these tests may include: non-stress test, amniotic fluid index,
Biophysical profile, breast stimulation stress test and Oxytocin contraction stress test

Contraception
Birth control refers to a set of behaviors, medications or devices followed in order to deliberately prevent or reduce the likelihood of becoming pregnant. Strategies and devices which are intended to reduce the risk of fertilization of an ovum by a spermatozoon can be referred to as contraception.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is cyclic sound pressure with a frequency greater than the upper limit of human hearing. We conduct sonograph ultrasounds to produce pictures of fetuses in the womb. These are usually conducted at 8-12 weeks and again at 16-20 weeks.

Infertility
This primarily refers to the biological inability of a person to conceive. Infertility may also refer to the state of a woman who is unable to carry a pregnancy to full-term. There are many biological causes of infertility, some which may be bypassed with medical intervention.

Menopause
Menopause is the transition period in a woman's life when her ovaries stop producing eggs, her body produces less estrogen and progesterone, and menstruation becomes less frequent, eventually stopping altogether.

Laboratory Services

In addition to the services listed above, we have laboratory services available on-site. Laboratory testing is often necessary to diagnose medical problems. A separate fee is generally charged for most laboratory procedures.
